Okay, so anyone who knows me will know how obsessed I am with Kiehl’s skin care, any Kiehl’s shop that I walk past has this magnetic field that just ends up pulling me in, I seriously can’t resist. So when I hit around 15/16 I was blessed (ahem) with the delight of acne, and let me tell you, it was such a bitch to get rid of.
Every month come pay day I’m straight onto Kiehl’s website and I’m constantly planning what product to buy next. I probably own 90% of Kiehl’s products and I must say there isn’t a product that I’ve tried that I don’t like. I’m really into my skin care and trying to keep that acne at bay, I love a good overnight peel and am a huge fan of the Alpha H Liquid Gold, but I wanted something a bit more gentle that I could use every night rather than every other night.
Into my basket first of all went the Nightly RefiningMicro-peel Concentrate, so this is a very watery based serum style product that you put onto freshly cleansed skin at night and off to bed you go. This claims to reveal newly radiant and refreshed skin when you wake up in the morning, for me this definitely works and I feel like it helps with the under the skin acne bumps that still plague my face to this day. When I’m having an unfortunate break out I feel that the turn around for recovery on my spots is a lot quicker since using this. I’m almost at the end of this bottle as I’ve been using this for over 2 months and I can definitely see a difference.
Next into my basket was my ride or die cleanser, the Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash, I love this stuff, this literally foams up like shaving gel and leaves my skin feeling clean to the core. I use this with my beloved Clarisonic and nothing leaves my face feeling cleaner. This cleanser is all about achieving smoother and softer skin, over the years I have used and abused my skin by doing acid peels that were way too strong, over exposed to UV light to name but a few of the things I tried to ditch my acne skin. So this really helps to make my skin feel moisturised and refreshed, this doesn’t leave me with tight feeling skin at all, it’s just comfortable and clean.
I also popped in one of the Kiehl’s lip balms, this was not what I thought it would be and I must say I’m slightly disappointed with this. I love a good thick lip mask that really moisturises as I have really chapped lips in the winter time, I feel that this is more of a lip gloss than a balm, which is great for a lipstick topper, however when trying to get super moisturised lips in the windy ways of the UK this doesn’t provide much moisture and I end up with my hair stuck to my lips which is obviously not idea.
